My love affair with color began as a
child, with my first works focusing solely on how different colors worked
together. Through color manipulation, I focused on the organic feel of
movement and harmony. My paintings have always contained an element of
movement, because I find stasis in art confining, rather than comforting.
As my art evolved, I began
exploring themes with a strong feminine presence and literary influences.
Recently, I have been creating slightly whimsical landscapes with an
abstract-contemporary slant. In particular, I have been rather taken
with the concept of the forest and water, and I have been slowly progressing
toward a "Tree of Life" theme. Most of my work also contains
a lunar motif which represents an element of peace in the midst of
dramatic change.
Art has always been a place of
solace for me. No matter how many people shout otherwise, art is a
world without rules (excepting the ones that were made to be broken.)
With such freedom, I found that art offers me a place to grow, to explore,
and to be myself.
